Good Kitties.

Just a couple days ago we took our cats to the vet. We found a nice veterinary clinic here in Corvallis. They were a bit nervous going in because we put them in their pet carrier (which they don't like so much any more after our trip to and from La Grande). Everyone at the clinic told us that they were adorable, and they really are.

The vet weighed them and it turns out Bert weighs 6lbs. 5oz. And Ernie weighs only 5lbs. We are not sure why because Ernie always seems to be the pig. The vet also took their temperature and they did not like that (it was done the old fashion way).

The vet took them to get blood samples and to help them relax she gave them cheesewiz. Who would of thought that cats love cheesewiz. They taught us how to trim cats nails (I bet mom wishes we had learned before we went to La Grande with them). They got their shots and we'll be going back for boosters soon. They also gave them some flea medicine which is really helping. That night I saw the fleas dropping like flies off the kitties. I kept picking them up and flushing them down the toliet.

The grossest part of all of this is that the doctor asked us to get a fecal sample. Luckily they went poop right as we got home and I just had to scoop it up. It smelled really bad and the thought of having kitty poop in a couple viles on the dash as I drove back to the vet was gross.

So $600 dollars later (we paid for all their shots and visits and everything up front) our kitties are healthy and doing fine.

I bet that they are really glad to get rid of the fleas. They really were quite well behaved while they were home. I just wished the weather would have been better for all of us. We have had some good days since the homecoming. But we have had 50 mph winds today.
Your kitties are cute and very cuddly.

Cute kittens--I hate to tell you this, but I have a cat I have spent at least $2500 on. She gets into scraps with other critters (probably racoons) and it's off to the vet we go! She is a long hair and looks like a pursion (sp), she is beautiful and sweet. I guess she's worth it! Yours will be, too!

Sorry to hear about the collection of the poop sample... I hate it when Gabby misses the box (which isn't often, but I can always tell immediately when it's happened). It was fun to meet Burt and Ernie!!
